    Really nice piece.

  • Sara

    Wow… I’m kinda speechless.. er.. wordless. I made the top 10?! Yowza. My mental cogs and wheels have now been blown. Thanks!

  • Melanie McK

    I was blown away by the detail on the jeans and the consistency in the brick wall, a lesson in colouring.

  • Joan VanCourt

    Wow, congrats to all these artists. I placed my vote. Wish I knew a little about these artists. Hope they do a little write up after the voting is over. Good luck, everyone.

      Hi Joan! We just added links to each artist’s name, to take them to their Copic Color page. Thanks!

    Whoops I accidentally voted twice to two different artworks, but ahh they’re all amazing! Great job everyone! Ykano & Catherine Miller’s concepts and rendering are truly spectacular!

    • Concern Copic Marker User

      Ykano and Catherine Millers concepts are okay but I wouldn’t say spectacular. They are over done and something that floats around Deviant art way to many times. The styles are also easily replicated. I can already see how this contest is being judge. Oh lord.

    @Concern Copic Marker User
    hmm do I detect a sense of.. bitterness? Lol I’m not a DA user so I wouldn’t know about that but I love the way they colored with Copics (isn’t what this contest is mainly about?). Whatever, all art is subjective anyways so get off your high horse, sweetie :)

    • Lara

      @Caroline D
      How is Concern Copic Marker User being bitter and on a high horse? They are entitled to their opinion about what they find to be spectacular and not. On a scale, Ykano & Catherine Miller’s drawings are not as impressive as Sara Moodie or Sydney’s. Those look very life like and as someone earlier mentioned Sara has wonderful jean attention. And Sydney’s horse is amazing with copics. Not that the other artists are terrible but certain elements and designs can easily be achieved with copics. By my standards realism beats any other style as it takes years to learn, and hard to emulate with markers.

      @Lara

      Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and some of us are entitled to our opinion that the “so-and-so’s art isn’t as good as so-and-so’s” are juvenile.

      It’s rather interesting, actually. I visited one of the artists’ deviantArt page, whom you are praising, and she had a comment along the lines of “hey everyone, help me beat the people who drew anime!!” Never mind she had anime on her dA page, and never mind the two pieces getting attacked are based on realism, even with the fantasy elements thrown in.

      So yeah, I’m kind of wondering if her friends are coming here to trash other artists. If that’s the case, that is tacky beyond belief.

      Yes, everyone can have an opinion, but when I see certain trends emerging in these comments, I’m going to call as I see it. *shrug*

  • Lara

    I love Sara’s and Sydney’s work! I’m blown with their detail!
    Though I love Kerrie’s as well. So beautiful to look at!
    Great entries!

  • Sydney

    So much time and dedication with copics! I am glad to be competing with talented artists who take time to express themselves with these wonderful markers :)

  • Cindy C.

    Wow all amazing work. Big congrats to all finalists!

    Wow. Have to say I adored Jump, Owl Radio and Untitled the most. Really outstanding work – hard to pick just one!

  • Kris

    I voted for Catherine Miller’s piece. I was scrolling down and thinking, wow these are all so good, and then got to her work and i just had to stop and look at it. It called to me. The way cold and fiery colors were chosen, the line art and composition. I am a sucker for fantasy too.

    Good luck to all of you up there! This is one tough competition!

    I vote for number 5! They are all spectacular though.

  • Valen LaRae

    Oh Wow! I can’t believe it! Didn’t think mine would make it to the finals.

    All illustrations are really beautiful, it’s not easy to make a choice. Good luck to all finalists.

  • Shell

    I don’t see where to vote……but could you count #6 as the one for me

      Hi Shell! Voting is now over, it ended yesterday at midnight. Thanks!
