October has come and gone, and with it, the first ever Copic Intermediate Certification. There are now 30 plus highly knowledgeable Copic artists available to share their expertise with anyone interested in maximizing the possibilities with Copic products. Look for an instructor near you or request a class at your local store. A list of all Copic Certified instructors is available here.

While both the Standard and Intermediate classes require an application review before acceptance, the Intermediate application includes a coloring section. The Standard Copic Certification teaches skills such as how to choose your paper and how to create special effects with Copic Colorless blender. The Intermediate class goes above and beyond this, covering topics such as how to choose appropriate color combinations for shading, shadows and highlights, light placement and composition.

Drop in to the UofO Bookstore store to view dozens of artists gathered from around the country demonstrating fine art technique in a wide range of media. Visit with vendor sales representatives able to answer your most in-depth art product questions. Enter to win door prizes offered by each vendor represented.

Every year Copic sponsors events and donates prizes to groups holding events raising money for breast cancer research and awareness. This past Sunday, however, we did something more. Copic staff braved the heavy rain, donned their pink and joined over 7,000 others in Eugene, Oregon for the Inaugural Eugene Race for the Cure to help spread awareness and raise funds for breast cancer research and treatment.

First off we are now distributing the new TracePad by Light Beam, Inc. It’s and ultra-thin, ultra bright light table that offers even light and no hot spots due to the fact that there are no bulbs. It’s 100% LED, which means it’s super efficient and has low energy consumption.

Next we’ve just received part 2 of the Product Design Rendering dvd series featuring a TON of great information. This dvd is over three hours long and covers techniques, materials and approaches to rendering several kinds of products and surface types.

Lastly our Papercrafting Set color charts are now up on the Sketch Sets page (scroll down). These sets are available in Copic and Ciao as well. Currently they are only up on the Sketch Sets page.

After many weeks of website ups and downs we have finally put the pieces back together. We apologize for any inconvenience. The best part of the wait has been the addition of our new blog. We will use this spot to talk about new Copic developments, post interesting things found on the internets as well as some other goodies we have planned. But you’ll have to come back to find out what those are!

In the meantime please be patient as we work the bugs out and update a TON of info daily.
